In 1829 there were 16 Methodists recorded in Bratton. A chapel was built at Stradbrook in 1870, largely due to funding by Nathaniel Snelgrove, who also included a bequest of £400 for the chapel's maintenance in his will proved in 1874. Services ceased in 1952; the organ was transferred to Pound Street, Warminster, the communion set to Longbridge Deverill and the moveable pews to Freshford and Westwood Chapels. The chapel itself was demolished in 1957.
The Trustees' records between 1915 and 1957 are held at Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre.
