Methodist Chapel, Donhead St. Andrew

At Rowberry (Ruberry) Cross in 1828 a house occupied by George Lush Junior was certified as a Methodist meeting house. The name of John Gillingham of Shaftesbury was also listed. In 1829 Alexander Barratt's house was certified for Wesleyan Methodists. In pencil it was noted 'Mr Dunbar first April 1829, paid'. During 1833 a dwelling house was occupied by Thomas Ford, Methodist. In 1846 Wesleyans met at a house in Easton Bassett. A stone chapel replaced this house in 1875. It closed before 1964 and stood derelict in the late 20th century, although by then it had become situated in the parish of Berwick St. John.
