Methodists in South Newton

Methodist worship took place in the house of William Lawrence, registered in 1807 and a new Methodist chapel was built in 1812. On Census Sunday in 1851 fifteen Wesleyans attended service at the chapel. In 1879 the building was being used by Primitive Methodists and was demolished by 1900.

A small chapel was built for United Methodists in Stoford in 1912; this closed in 1986.
