A conventicle of Baptists in Stoford, which was one of a number associated with a chapel in Porton, is known to have been in existence c.1660. Subsequently an early registration under the Declaration of Indulgence, in force from April 1672 to February 1673, took place in May 1672 in respect of Anabaptist worship at the house of 'Widow Blake' in Stoford.
