Independents certified houses at Starley in 1797 (at the house of Jacob Hand) and in 1817 (at the house of Ralph Punter), and at Great Somerford in 1827 and 1834. In 1827 the house was occupied by Worthy Porter and in 1835 certification was for a house and premises in the possession of John Porter, William Barnes and John Greeneway. It is thought that thirty Independents attended a chapel in Great Somerford in 1851 but no other record of this can be found.
