Non-Conformists, Grittleton

In 1709 a building in the occupation of Joseph Houlton, a gentleman who had obtained the manor through marriage in 1705, was licensed for Baptist worship. This became a Strict Baptist Chapel. In 1725 the house of James Bristow was licensed for Quaker worship.
