There was a church here by the late 12th century, which is the date of the reset south doorway. This has a decorated tympanum above a lintel carved with a hunting scene. The church was rebuilt in 1864 to the designs of T.H. Wyatt, the diocesan architect. It is believed that most features of the early church were reproduced, suggesting that the small nave and chancel were 12th century with the chapel being added in the 14th century. Most of the small windows were enlarged in the 15th or 16 century while in the 1864 rebuilding the north porch was rebuilt as a vestry and a bell turret built. The bell turret was removed in 1965.
In 1973 Little Langford was united with Steeple Langford as the parish and benefice of the Langfords; that became united with Wylye and Fisherton de la Mare, while in 1979 Stockton was included to create a new benefice of Yarnbury. The parish registers from 1699 (with gaps from 1767-85 for baptisms and 1764-85 for burials), other than those in current use are held in the Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre at Chippenham.
