Non-conformists, Woodford

There is no evidence for non-conformity in the parish until the 19th century. Initially residents walked to other parishes to take part in services; in 1829 there were 49 Methodists who worshiped in the parish of nearby Durnford who came from Woodford. In the latter part of the 19th century, Joseph Olding allowed non-conformists of an unspecified type into his house to worship.
