Non-conformists, Great Wishford

In 1662 there were four recorded dissenters in the parish. The first recorded meeting house licence was granted to George Abree on 7th August 1797. Benjamin Shurgold was granted a licence for a house on 6 October 1832 for Primitive Methodist worship. In 1864 there is a record of 12 Wesleyan and Independent worshippers meeting in a room in the parish.
