Quakers, West Kington

In 1777 the barn of Joan Bennett, a widow, was registered for Friends’ meetings; an earlier registration had been the house of John Dark in 1699 but it is not known which group this was for but it is likely to have been Quakers. Other Quaker meeting houses were the dwellings of William Marsh, yeoman, and of John Darke, sergemaker, in 1707.
