Wesleyan Methodists, Froxfield

A house occupied by Charles Akerman was registered as a meeting house for Wesleyan Methodists in September 1834. Wesleyans also had two houses certified for worship in the hamlet of Rudge. In January 1834 a house occupied by labourer William Hobbs was registered while two years later, in 1836, a house occupied by Charles Edwards was also registered. By 1864 there were just a few Methodists in the parish, meeting in a cottage.
