On 8th December 1840, a dwelling house and premises owned and occupied by James Wentworth, a labourer, were certified for religious use. A house and premises owned by Frederick White was certified on 30th December 1840, and was believed to have been used by Primitive Methodists. A chapel was built for the Primitive Methodists in 1846, and was licensed on 18th November 1846. It was owned by the Primitive Methodist Society and the minister was George Obern of Marlborough. It is believed to have closed in the mid 20th century.
