Methodist Chapel, Wootton Rivers

In August 1821 Henry Barnett obtained a Meeting House certificate for Wootton Rivers, he held the Independent Methodist Services in his house, with the agreement and aid of Reverend Thomas Stone. In 1881 the Chapel, seating 50 people, was officially opened, the application had been upheld since about 1860. There was a always a strong link between St Andrews Church and the Methodist Chapel; a church warden even attended the chapel occasionally and the members of the chapel were always willing to help the church if needs be. The chapel is now a privately owned house.
