Nonconformity did not take root in the parish despite various attempts in the first half of the 19th century. In 1819 the house of John Wells was registered for worship by Wesleyan Methodists, while in 1820 Williams King’s house was registered for an unnamed group. The Devizes Itinerant Society registered a building in 1831 and in 1842 Joseph Parry registered a house at Conock for another unknown group. It is unlikely that worship at any of these houses continued for very long and no nonconformist chapel was ever built in the parish.
