Roman Catholics Swallowcliffe

One Roman Catholic is recorded in 1767 and three in 1780 and all attended mass at Wardour.One was the Catholic Apostolic church or lsquoIrvingatersquo church built south east of Poles farm. This was served by a deacon and closed for a while in 1851.Services were conducted there in 1864 but it was unused from the 1920s and later demolished.nbsp
