Chute Forest Church was built around 1870/71 and consecrated in 1875. In 1924 it was united with Chute vicarage, and the 2 parishes were united in 1954. The church closed in 1972. It was taken under the care of the Redundant Churches Fund, later the Churches Conservation Trust, in 1974. In 1979 the united benefice became part of Wexcombe. As no house was provided the incumbent lived outside the parish. The church, dedicated to St. Mary was designed by J.L. Pearson and is of brick and flint construction. It consists of a chancel with a north vestry, a south transept and nave with north and south aisles. There is a chapel in the east and a porch to the south west. Above the transept is a tower with pyramidal spire. The roof, trussed in timber is divided by brick diaphragm arches. The vestry had a wagon roof.
