Non Conformist, Milston

After his ejection from Milston in 1660, Thomas Rutty was a nonconformist preacher in Trowbridge and elsewhere. Parishioners may have attended Baptist conventicles in the later 17th century, but in 1676 there was said to be no nonconformist in Milston and there has never been a chapel in the parish. The 1864 visitations for the Salisbury Diocese show that there were chapels in neighbouring Bulford and Durrington if Milston residents wished to attend.
