Methodist Church, Silver Street, Calne

Methodists were meeting in Calne by 1808 and in 1811 they built a chapel in Back Road. This was enlarged in 1815 and again in 1828 and by 1851 there was a congregation of 134. A much larger chapel, in the Decorated style clad in rock faced rubble, was built in Silver Street in 1876-77 and has continued to serve the town since then.
