Primitive Methodist Chapel, Calne

A meeting was formed in 1830 and in 1832 a cottage in The Pippin was certified for worship. In the late 1830s services were held in the former Presbyterian chapel in Back Road after which they switched to a cottage in Bollins Lane before returning to the chapel in 1846. In 1851 there was a congregation of 148. In 1886 they bought the former Wesleyan Methodist chapel in Back Road and held services there from 1887. In 1965 the chapel was closed and the congregation merged with the Silver Street Methodists. The chapel in Back Road was demolished.
