Congregationalists were meeting in Lacock in 1783 and met in one another's houses for over 100 years. A church was built in 1812 with seating for 150 people. It had a plain interior with a panelled-fronted gallery. In the early 1970s the chapel became the United Reform Church of St. Stephen and the small number of Methodists remaining in Lacock joined the church for services. The church became redundant in the 1990s and in 2003 was being converted into a private house.
