After 1984 the majority of the members of the Providence Baptist Chapel wished to widen their congregation to all Christians and formed the Christian Fellowship. As they were no longer meeting the terms of the deed of trust they left the chapel in 1986 and began meeting in the parish hall in April 1986. They changed to the scout hall in May 1988 and in 1989 held rallies in the village, which resulted in the formation of the King's Club for children aged from 7 to 11 years.
