General Baptist Chapel, Southwick

Around 1704 a small piece of land, near Bradley Common was assigned to trustees, including some from the Conigre meeting. A congregation that formed part of a joint church with the Conigre chapel in Trowbridge existed by 1714. Little is known about the chapel in Goose Street but the congregation dwindled in the late 18th century and the chapel had closed and was demolished c. 1800. A clock from this chapel was bought by Samuel Martin, minister at the Conigre, where it remained until c.1974. It was transferred to the General Baptist Chapel, Ditchling, Sussex.
