Independents, Maiden Bradley

Licenses were granted for Independents to worship in private houses in 1797 (house of William Newbury Junior), and 1802 (lately occupied by William Carr Junior). The latter house is described as being 'bought to be fitted up', which would seem to indicate that it had been converted from a domestic dwelling to a chapel. A chapel was built in 1822 and this became the Congregational chapel.
