In 1851 a group were meeting in a building that could accommodate 50 people, but the whereabouts of this building are not now known. There were 30 people at evening service and 45 children at Sunday School. Later a chapel was built on the northern side of the street, at the eastern end of the village. The chapel was at first served from Ramsbury, and later from Marlborough, but was never viable as an independent group. In 1878 it was handed over to the Marlborough Independents; numbers declined and the chapel closed and had been demolished by 1899.
