In 1937 the Parochial Church Council of Southbroom accepted the responsibility for this timber and corrugagted building that had been provided by Edward Coward. They took a lease of 30 years at two shillings and sixpence (12½ pence) per year, and fortnightly services were held between October and April until at least the 1950s.
