I visited Oxenwood Field study centre in June 73. I was 10 and a pupil of St Gabriel’s RC Primary School, Castleton, Rochdale. The trip was instigated by Mrs Marshall, a former Oxenwood teacher/Head teacher. She’d arrived at our school around 1971 with wonderful stories of Oxenwood. We had a fabulous time visiting Avebury, Stonehenge, Marlborough, Salisbury Cathrdral as well as Fosbury and the Wilton windmill. It was fabulous, making a lasting impression. I visit Wiltshire a couple of times a year and have taken my family to look at Oxenwood on a number of occasions….
