I attended upavon primary in the late 60s I was living at RAF upavon. I loved the school and passed my 11+ exam there. If I remember correctly my teacher was called Mr. Wren?

I attended around 1960/63 ish. I remember a [Mrs M] being head. She caned me for stepping on the mud. I didn’t like her at all but I can’t remember the names you mention. I do have, for being so young, tremendous memories of the downs, of stepping off the school bus, looking around and seeing fields of golden cowslips, to this day I can smell them. Also, I wrote a poem, spent ages on it, took it to school and was accused of copying it and never saw it again! This was some of it…. “Up and down the hills we rally In and out of country valleys Sitting on the speeding train Looking through the dusty window pane” For one so young, to have written that was quite something, I could’ve been the next Wordsworth haha Oh well! Then we moved to RAF Leconfield.
