Notes

Established in 1876 with the assistance of a bequest from Julia Elizabeth Chafyn-Grove as the Salisbury School for Boys. In 1922 the school in Bourne Avenue had a library, 5 classrooms, 4 dormitories, a school hall, a dining hall, a gymnasium and swimming bath. By 1932 the school was called the Chafyn Grove Salisbury School for Boys and by 1953 it was known by its present name of Chafyn Grove School. It is now a co-educational boarding and day school with 325 pupils, including 101 pre-preparatory (4+). A nursery department was opened in January 2002. The school is situated on the edge of Salisbury in 10 acres of grounds.
