Notes

The Convent of Christian Education is first mentioned in the 1915 directory at Leehurst in Campbell Road. Later the name Leehurst Boarding and Day School for Girls was used, with the address being The Convent, Campbell Road. In 1952 the school was taken over by Sisters of La Retraite and the school became La Retraite Convent School. A preparatory department was opened at Bower Hill in St. Martin's Avenue. In 1996 the school was joined by the Swan School for Boys under the name La Retraite Swan, under which entry further information can be found.
