Notes

As the city expanded into Harnham it was thought necessary to provide a local Methodist church for the growing population. A small church was built in Saxon Road in 1952 and a hall opened alongside in 1954. On 1st September 1984 the church was united with those at Dews road and St. Edmund's Church Street as Salisbury Methodist Church and in March 1987 the churches united on one site at St. Edmund's Church Street. The Saxon Road Church was demolished and the site is now occupied by a group of flats called Wesley Close; the sign is picture here.
