In 1810 a group seceded from the main Methodist church in Bradford and set up a new meeting that appealed to the poorest in the community. They registered a building for worship in 1825 and built a new church in 1845 under the influence of the Melksham Primitive Methodists, although they later became part of the Calne Circuit. They were never strong in Bradford and abandoned the church between 1885 and 1890 although they continued to exist as a separate body until 1932 when they were reunited with the main Methodist church in the town. The building became a temperance hall for a time and was later used by Christchurch School before the new school was built. It is now a private house.
