Notes

The school was built in 1873, partly funded by a building grant from the government. The site was given by R.L. Lopes and the school had accommodation for 100 children of all ages. In 1906 there were 60 pupils here. In 1953 Shurnhold Secondary Modern School opened in Melksham and children aged over 11 were transferred there with Sandridge becoming a primary school. By 1955 the school had been granted voluntary controlled status and there were 41 children on the roll. The school became known as Forest and Sandridge Church of England Primary School.
