Notes

Miss C.M. White, daughter of the Congregational minister, opened this school in Weaveland Road. In 1884 she moved it to Albany House, pictured here in 2003, at the southern end of the High Street, when it took both boarders and day girls. A further change came in 1888 when the school moved to Arundell House, nearer the top of the High Street, and a schoolroom and dormitories were built there. The school closed in Tisbury in 1897 when it moved to London.
