Notes

Before 1861 a group had split from the Zion Baptist chapel and formed a Wesleyan Methodist meeting. In 1861 they built a brick chapel in the High Street, positioned where it could attract people from both Shrewton and Maddington. The chapel prospered and after the Methodist Union in 1932 it became the Shrewton Methodist Church. It remains open in 2004.
