This independent special school was founded in 1988 to teach children with special learning difficulties, or dyslexia. It is a day and boarding school for pupils aged between 7 and 13 years. There is a whole school approach to dyslexia with emphasis on literary and numeracy skills. The aim is to return pupils to mainstream education as soon as possible; since 1988 a total of 80% of children have achieved this. In 2003 there were 33 day pupils and 57 boarders.
