Henry Tasker, of the local iron works family, ran the Anna Valley Workman's Hall Mission and held an open air meeting at Ludgershall in 1892. He was so encouraged by the response that he built a mission hall in the village. This was on a plot of land purchased for £150 and hall was opened in 1904. Open air meetings were still held after the hall had been opened. During the First World War the hall was opened up to all troops in the area and was known as the 'Soldiers' Welcome'. Refreshments, entertainments, games and writing materials were all provided free of charge. The hall was registered as a place of worship in 1921 by the Ludgershall Evangelical Mission and reseated with pews in 1938. During the Second World War the hall was taken over by the Open Air mission and again used as a 'Soldiers' welcome'. In 1948 it was replaced by the former mission hall from Tangley that was set up on the site and it continues as a Methodist Chuch.
