This shows the premises of Herbert Joseph Cridland Fare at nunber 222. He was a baker and confectioner, a grocer, and also ran the post office until c.1918. The business started in the late 1890s as grocer's shop. Deliveries were made, firstly by horse and wagon, and then by solid tyred motor van.
