Notes

The origins of this church are in a meeting at Monkton Farleigh in the 18th century, where a room had been reserved in a house for the use of John Wesley, or any of his followers. A chapel was described as recently erected in Winsley in 1812 and in 1836 a Wesleyan chapel, held in trust, was certified for worship in the village. In 1875 it was at the chapel could accommodate 146 people. A new chapel was built in 1902 with 100 sittings.
