From 1912 the old National School in College Road was reseved for infants when a new junior school was opened in School Road, but in 1922 the old school was closed and the infants moved to the School Road school as the older children attended a new senior school in Bulford Road. In 1926 there were 147 pupils but this had dropped to 124 in 1938. In 1961 a new secondary modern school was built, the children aged over 11 moved into it, the juniors moved to the Bulford Road building and the infants remained in sole occupation of the School Road building. The school has been extended and additional buildings have been added in recent years. The rear of the school has also been attractively landscaped and outdoor play equipment included. In 2004 there were 144 pupils at the school, little changed in number from the 1920s.
