In 1819 the house of Daniel Stevens was certified for Methodist worship and a Methodist Society existed here by 1829. In 1831 they bought a piece of land, measuring 27 feet by 27 feet (8.1 x 8.1 metres) from Thomas Giddings for £5. On this they built a chapel that was certified in March 1832, when there were seven members . In 1836 the property was acquired by the Wiltshire Mission Trust and by 1844 there were 14 members. This number was maintained until 1886 when it fell to 12. In 1873 it was reported that there was accommodation for 100 people, and with family and friends of the members there must have been a reasonable attendance for services. There were still 9 members in 1951 but later in the century the chapel closed and it is now a workshop.
