The Wesleyan Methodist Bethel Chapel at Wilton was built in 1811. It is small and of red brick; a school was built on the side in 1843. The chapel was much altered c.1860-70 when the walls were heightened and a porch and upper window added to the front. On Census Sunday in 1851 there was an attendance of 179 people for the afternoon service while 180 attended in the evening. During the 20th century the number in the congregation gradually became smaller and the chapel closed in 1994. It is now a private house.
