Marlborough Academy, Ivy House, Marlborough

Founded in 1780 by John Davis, a Dissenting minister, the school was continued under William Gresley (from 1791) and others until the mid 19th century. It provided an education for Dissenters who were not allowed to enter Oxford or Cambridge colleges.
