Can you tell me anything about the Draycot Mill at Draycot Cerne in the early part of the 19th century please? It was a flour mill with a house attached. Are there any photos available?

I'm afraid that we don't have any pictures of the mill and as it was demolished before 1885 it is possible that none may exist.
This had been the only mill at Draycot since the 17th century and it stood on the western side of the road to the next village of Stanton St. Quinton, on the southern bank of a stream that flows into the River Avon to the east of Sutton Benger. Occupants of the mill in the first half of the 19th century included;
Susanna Robbins in 1807
Edwin Buckland in 1839
John Davies in 1848
The mill ceased working between 1868 and 1872.
