The name Dunge, on the border between West ashton and Bratton parishes, is from the Old English 'dyncge' meaning manure or manured land. I don't think we will have any information on the hamlet, but I can send you information on the farmhouse & the moat site, which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It is too much to email, so if you would like to forward your address I will post it to you.
