I am currently trying to find some information on possible 16th/17th century inhabitants of the Manor House in Winterbourne Gunner.

Answer

There is no full general history of Winterbourne Gunner but as far as I can tell the inhabitants of the manors - there were two, Winterbourne Gunner and Winterbourne Cherborough - at this time was as follows;

From at least 1440 Edmund Penstone and descendants until 1565

1565 John Shuter - who possibly sold Gunner to Robert Coward of West Pennard, Somerset

Both Shuters and Cowards appear to have owned the manors in the late 16th and early 17th centuries

Matthew Bee of Salisbury bought both manors, probably around the mid 17th century

1676 the Elliott family became owners of the manors, although most of them are buried at Winterbourne Earls.
