Answer
I imagine you may be referring to the water tower built as part of the 1930's scheme to bring mains water to Colerne. This was located (ST820714) on the eastern edge of the village near the later 1940's-early 50's housing estate Martins Croft. The Colerne History Group's book, The Village on the Hill, Vol. 1, tells this story of this project and page 153 shows the design of the tower and a photo of its replacement tower. The location of the latter, on the southern edge of the airfield, is clearly shown on the current OS 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 maps (Wr Twr). Finally, in 2005, on the site of the old tower and some lock-up garages, more housing was built. The development is called Tower Close
