Other Schools, Great Somerford

There was a day school in Great Somerford in 1818 which had twenty pupils attending. A Sunday school was also run for 80 children; it was maintained by voluntary subscriptions. An evening school was also held during the winter. It was felt at the time that as the village manufactured lace, little schooling was required.


Mills Farm was a school for young ladies in Victorian times.
