The church at Market Lavington held a Sunday school from as early as 1790, where children from Easterton would have gone. A Sunday school at Easterton itself was started soon after this. In 1833 it was recorded that there was a day school at Easterton. In the middle of the 19th century there was a dame school at Easterton that often taught children who were too young to attend the National School at Market Lavington; in 1859 between 15 and 20 children were being taught here.
