The school comprises four departments, namely the Baby Unit, Pre-Class, Dairy Class and the Barn Class, which together accommodate children from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

The school is registered on the Early Years and Childcare Registers. In May 2011. 169 children attended on a variety of days, with some 26 members of staff working regularly at the school.

Teaching at the school is based on the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori which aims for the individual development of each child. The buildings of the school were originally a farm and, given its rural setting, the school's pupils are able to enjoy a number of activities in the grounds, including contact with a number of animals, including donkeys, sheep, pigs, chickens and rabbits.
