Early Schools, Lydiard Tregoze

In 1835 one Sunday school was attended by 50 boys and the teacher was paid an annual salary of £5 by the rector. In 1846 there were two Sunday schools and a day school in operation in Lydiard Tregoze. They were attended by 32 boys and 41 girls. A dame school was also attended by 14 children.
